Today, we got up early. We wanted to avoid the queues at the Eiffel Tower. On the way we met a black bro, who knew some Czech and offered us a small Eiffel Towers, etc. Some of us could not resist. In the queue, we mingled unobtrusively into the Czech tour. Sellers around us the whole time circling like vultures over carrion, offering tons of Eiffel Towers, lighters and quality guaranteed watches. After the late opening of cash desks, we had smuggled up to the elevator (with knives and other items for personal protection). Already down, we noticed two nice Czech girls. As we later found out it was not an ordinary Czech girls, they were lesbians. As it happens, we asked them to take a picture of us at the top. Eiffel Tower was indeed awesome and Paris lay in a slight haze. Next we went to take photos of the Eiffel Tower across the river. And what happened, next two nice ladies. They wanted to have a picture together, so Jorge did it and the girls took picture for us. In an effort to take the entire Eiffel Tower with us, the girl with the short dress knelt, so excuse our faces in the picture. Our desire for green nature took us to the Luxembourg gardens. We visited Pantheon located nearby the Luxembourg gardens. As EU citizens under 26 years, we had free entry. We loved Pantheon, especially the crypt with the graves of prominent Parisians such as Alexandre Dumas, Victor Hugo, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile Zola, Denis Diderot, and others. Somewhere between the deads lies Jorge’s ticket to the Paris public transport. We had a usual healthy lunch. After lunch, we went to Notre Dame de Paris, where were some important events in history. Full of historical impressions we went to a modern building, the Pompidou Centre, where we only took pictures and we headed to the Louvre. We probably set a world record for length of visit in the Louvre. We were there for 15 minutes, we had a look at Lisa and we went through the park adjacent to the Place de la Concorde (Square of Concord) and we went by Metro to Sacré Coeur. After our heroic ascent to the highest point of Montmartre, we watched Sacré Coeur inside. In its vicinity, we saw the typical performance of local street artists, such as living statues, guitarists or break-dances. We went down to the main street of Montmartre, where we dined in style at the local park and after St. Pauli and Amsterdam we again went in “red” street. We took pictures at the Moulin Rouge and hurried back to the next item on our agenda. Arc de Triomphe greeted us at the time of sunset, and offered us a beautiful view of the darkening Paris. During our boat trip along the River Seine, was already completely dark. But unfortunately we saw blinking Eiffel Tower only from a distance, we saw only night Eiffel Tower and it was really cool. Partially frigid we went to the heat subway and headed towards the hotel. After sixteen hours on feet, and 32,122 steps and about 20 kilometers, we fell asleep immediately. |
